Zherdev & Fritsche for Tyutin & Backman
By Bethany | July 2, 2008

Well, we got our puck moving defensemen. The Columbus Blue Jackets traded Nikolai Zherdev and Dan Fritsche to the New York Rangers for Fedor Tyutin and Christian Backman. While, I am not sure what I think about this deal, right now, I know our needs were addressed.
Columbus fans, we have a solid SOLID, blue line now. Hell, we have a solid team. We need that top line center, (MORRISON COME TO OHIO) and we will be golden!! Good luck Nikolai and Fritsche! We will miss you!!
“The addition of Fedor and Christian to our lineup has really improved our puck moving ability from the blueline,” said Howson. “All strong teams are built from the backend out and we feel like we made significant strides in that area today.”
