Welcome to Columbus!!

Image via WikipediaAs you may or may not know, some of the Blue Jackets prospects are in Columbus!! Well some of them at least. Jakub Voracek, Tom Sestito, Derick Brassard, Nick Holden, and Derek Dorsett are all currently in Columbus getting some intense workouts going on, in the hopes that they make the big club. Aaron Rome, Adam Pineault, and Andrei Plekhanov are also going to be in Columbus to enjoy the summer work their butts off.
I am pretty happy to hear that so many prospects are getting in shape. They have the desire to make a difference which makes me happy. Aaron Rome, Jakub Voracek, and Derick Brassard are pretty much guaranteed a spot on the roster. Rome, because he proved himself last year coming in and replacing Foote. Brassard came up last season a little too quickly after an injury, but he has serious potential. Jakub Voracek was drafted last year, in Nationwide Arena, and everybody is ready for him to be on the big club…he is too young for the AHL, so if he doesn’t make it he will either go back to Halifax (not likely according to Q-Girl) or he will go to Europe.
On a totally random note, I haven’t heard anything about Duvie, so my guess is that we buy out his contract. Michael Peca, is probably not coming back, I am coming to terms with it I suppose.
Also, in a totally random note. My amazing twin made me my new header and I am in love with it!!

pfff I could just give you a Jake picture and you wouldn’t have to put fancy credits on it. Though admittedly my action shots suck bones.

[…] I get to see him in a Blue Jackets uniform. He has a desire to come to Columbus to train with the other Jackets prospects and players. Filatov and his family are going to have a conference call with Howson tomorrow (Monday) to talk […]

[…] I guess I realized that, but then again, I didn’t. There really is a shortage of quality centers in the league. We drafted one, we haven’t ruined him (like we did Brule), and well now he has his chance to prove his spot. He is doing what Jared Boll did last summer, and working with our training staff and getting tough, and working hard…along with some other future Blue Jackets. […]
