Trade Deadline Day

I feel like I’m actually able to write now. If someone was going to tell me at the beginning of this season that we were going to trade Foote and I would be this upset about it…I would have laughed in their face. Not because I don’t like the guy, I adore Foote and always have, but because I thought going in he was gone…but with his level of play this season, and with all the talk of a contract getting done, I was confident that he would be a Blue Jacket for at least the next two seasons.
I knew without a doubt that Feds was gone. I am a little surprised that he went to the Caps but I know that Capschick and Shmee will take good care of him. I hope he retires after this year, he’s getting kind of old. I am pumped to see what he does with AO…should be pretty fricking sweet.
As for the Blue Jackets…we gained Theo Ruth, who will from here on out be known as “Baby Ruth.” I don’t know anything about the kid but will do plenty of researching him and will do a post dedicated to our new little defenseman who is currently playing at Notre Dame.
The Blue Jackets have also called up Aaron Rome and Derek MacKenzie and sent Brassard back to Syracuse…guess we just switched the Derek’s.
Maybe I will write more the more I think about it. I can’t wait to see you ROME!! <3

I was also upset to hear that Foote was traded but only because I was really hoping that Blake would get traded to Colorado so we could get something in return. But I did think of you when I read the news!! Glad to hear you’re moving on.

Shmee ~ Thanks!! And, surprisingly no, we just have to sign a few key UFA’s over the summer and I think we’ll be set. We desperately need that top line centre though, until then nothing is going to happen.
Elise ~ I told you right?! I’m going to go watch him play haha!!
KMS2 ~ Oh man, you don’t want your Captain to go away, it really hurts more than you think! And, I don’t think he’ll go anywhere this summer. Would you want him to sign an extension?
