The Syracuse Crunch/Gilbert Brule watch…
By Bethany | January 3, 2008
The Syracuse Crunch are currently sitting in 3rd in the North Division with, 36 points. Last night they fell to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins 6-3. The Brule watch, he had two shots on goal, and a penalty for slashing at the end of the 3rd period.
The plan for Brule is to play eight games, however in order for him to come back he has to be playing well,
“He’s got to play well,” Blue Jackets coach Ken Hitchcock said. “It’s a (three-week) assignment, yes, but he can’t go there and just punch the clock.”
“For his own personal well-being, he needs to see some success,” Hitchcock said. “He’s a guy who has scored goals his whole life, and then all of a sudden in the NHL, it’s just dried up. That’s why he needs to go down there, play well, have some fun and feel good about himself again.”
Here’s hoping that Brule can come back in eight games and start to develop into that dynamic player everyone pegged him to be. I for one was extremely worried about his confidence but according to the Syracuse Crunch Blog Brule had this to say:
“I wasn’t disappointed. It will be good,” he said. “Columbus told me they want me to work hard, get my offensive game back here. That’s what I hope to do. I just have to be hungry, ready to work.”
It’s good to know that Brule wasn’t disappointed…work hard buddy we’ll see you soon.
The next game for the Crunch is Friday playing the Albany River Rats at 7. *There is a real lack of good pictures of Brule*
