Jackets Sign Filatov!!
By Bethany | July 11, 2008
Well, they actually signed him yesterday, but, whatever. As you remember there was a bit of drama, which made me grow to hate the KHL. But, Nikita is signed, and is ours, and will be playing in North America THIS hockey season. Nikita has the potential to play in the NHL this season, and will be in Columbus as soon as he gets his work visa.
“We are very pleased that Nikita has made a strong commitment to play in North America as soon as possible,” said Howson. “He is a dynamic, talented player with outstanding offensive instincts. We look forward to seeing him in training camp this fall.”
Imagine if Jakub, Stefan, AND Nikita make the squad this season!! It’ll be interesting to watch how things pan out come training camp. Also, Portzline has a great article giving the run down about what’s going on with Russia and Filatov.

I’m a loyal reader of your posts and I love what your doing! Keep up the great work. As of this quote you said Jakub, Stefan and Nikita. I agree with the Jakub as I think he will make it 99%, and Nikita I hope takes Murrays place but I think will only come in for injured players, but Stefan? What about Derrick Brassard???? Stefan?! I don’t understand that… please clarify why you want Stefan over Brassard?? On my website I have probably lines as a post, I don’t see how Stefan fits in if they all make it, and they all have a better shot than him.

Michael ~ Thanks
I do enjoy Brassard and I hope he makes the team, however, Stefan & Jake have a very special place in my heart because I was able to see them get drafted. I guess that’s why I didn’t mention Brassard.
