    Jackets at Bruins…

    By Bethany | December 16, 2007

UGH!  The Jackets were shutout for the second time this season.  It always makes me sick to my stomach when we get shutout after last season.  We didn’t play well, we didn’t have any injury, and it just wasn’t a good effort.  The shots on goal was in our favor, I have no idea how exactly.  Anyway, it was a pathetic effort by our team, in the Puck Rakers blog they said this:

The Blue Jackets 32-18 shot advantage was ridiculously deceiving and coach Ken Hitchcock was right to point that out.

He said taking any solace in the shot edge would be “phony.” His team did basically nothing for the first 35 minutes and piled up mostly harmless chances in the third.

It’s true, we need people to play well, we need all of our lines to produce, Nash didn’t score, but apparently he is hurt, and needs a few days off.  Puck Rakers said,

The Blue Jackets play one game in the next five days – they host Calgary on Tuesday – and Nash needs the break. His back and hips are nagging him. (He was icing his hips after the morning skate yesterday).

I don’t think it’s anything serious, but Nash could use a few days away from the rink. He is pointless in a season-high four games.

If Nash is hurt, then we are pretty much screwed, we’re already without Freddy Modin and David Vyborny.

What do I think needs work?

Our power play, we don’t have a high octane offense, but the fact that we weren’t able to score goals against one of the leagues worst penalty kills is pathetic.  Our power play also needs work, I can see it slipping.

Freddy Norrena was probably our best player last night and gave us a chance to win, he was the only one that acted like he cared about this game.  We need to play better, and it needs to start now and Tuesday is a battle for the playoff spot, we need it and they need it!  We need it more, it’s going down LEANNE!!
