Hitch Signs Extension!!

Coach Ken Hitchcock signed a three-year extension with the Columbus Blue Jackets. Hitchcock will be with the Blue Jackets through the 2011-2012 season. This is great news for Blue Jackets fans, mainly because since Hitch has been a part of our organization we have had a an identity, something we had been lacking for quite a while. Here is what Scott Howson had to say about the extension:

“Signing Ken Hitchcock to this contract extension is another important step for the Columbus Blue Jackets as Ken is at or near the top of anyone’s list when it comes to NHL coaches,” said Howson. “He has brought credibility, presence and structure to our team and is an integral part of the Blue Jackets’ identity. We are pleased to have stability for at least the next four years at the head coaching position.”

Hitchcock is one of the best, if not the best coach in the NHL. He has turned our club around, and I know that he will get us to the playoffs if we just give Howson and Hitch the reigns. In 901 career games, Hitchcock has 470-314-117 record, which is a .599 if you’re that kind of person. Hitchcock is a proven winner, and will get the Blue Jackets there, very soon.
