    Drum Roll please….

    By Bethany | January 22, 2008

    F1: Modin, Brassard, Nash
    F2: Chimera, Peca, Zherdev
    F3: Shelley/Fritsche, Malhotra, Vyborny
    F4: Glencross, Novotny, Boll/Murray

Derick Brassard will be centering the top line tonight between Nash & Modin.  These are the lines according to Puck-Rakers.  The Dispatch also had an entire article dedicated to the move to the top line.  My personal opinion is pretty much well, it couldn’t hurt right?  Brassard is pretty excited about it, he was quoted as saying:

“When I got drafted (in 2006), I remember thinking, Rick Nash’s style and my style, maybe it will be good together in a few years,” Brassard said. “But now that it’s here … it’s very exciting for me.”

This is not ideal for our organization but we really don’t have a choice.  We don’t want to rush him but, Brassard was tearing up the AHL while he was down there, and really didn’t need to prove himself anymore at least in the A.  Hitchcock had this to say:

“The thing you love about Brass as a coach is he tries to score,” Hitchcock said. “He wants to score. He’s hungry to score. He calls for it. He wants the puck. That’s a good sign for this organization.

“You know … if we want a line that gives us a push at the net, we can do that with those three. I guess the bottom line is, you never know. When you put a line together, you never know.”

We’ll see how the kid looks tonight.  Just imagine in a few years with Nash on left wing Brassard in the middle and on the right Voracek…this franchise has a bright future ahead.  I would liveblog the game tonight, but I hate the Stars they really bore me…and I don’t think that the liveblog would be too interesting.
