Brule for Torres
By Bethany | July 1, 2008

The Blue Jackets have acquired Raffi Torres from the Edmonton Oilers for Gilbert Brule. Good deal, Brule didn’t seem to have what it takes, at least in Columbus. Good luck to him. Raffi Torres is an interesting fellow…I think…
Here’s the updated Puck-Rakers post.
“It’s part of the business, that stuff like this can happen,” Brule said. “Edmonton isn’t the worst place for me to go. I’ve got a lot of family. My dad’s side of the family, his sisters and their families, they live up in Sherwood Park.
“I didn’t know what was going to happen. I knew something could happen in the draft, but after the draft was over I didn’t think iwas going anywhere.”
“It’s all good, right?” Torres said. “I’m excited. It’s a new spot for me and my family. I’m going to miss Edmonton, but it’s time for a change. It’ll be good to move on.
“My wife looked at my cell phone when it rang, and she could see the call was from (Oilers GM) Kevin Lowe. When we found out it was Columbus, we were both really excited. It’s going to be great.”
